Betty Grimes, 86, formerly of Ashville, died October 18, 2023. She was born September 5, 1937, in Altoona, daughter of the late Alvin Clyde and Pauline Margaret (Chappell) Berkhimer. Preceded in death by husband Melvin on August 30, 2018, son, Daryl, granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Grimes, brother Alvin Berkhimer and sister, Roxanne Frontino. Survived by children: Galen (Tracy), Sandy (Jen), Lance (Rebeca) and Vicky (Alan) Pettenati, 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and three brothers. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and crocheting blankets for her family, playing games, and playing Mrs. Claus at Christmas time. She also was an avid bowler. Betty was active with the blood drive in Ashville for many years.
