Bettie Mae (Drass) Ross, 92, a resident of St. Benedict Manor, formerly of Lyleville, died June 26, 2023, at the Manor. Born December 9, 1930, in Hastings, daughter of the late William Drass and Helen (Thiec) Soupart (Emil). Preceded in death by husband, William “Bill” on November 25, 1974, parents-in-law, Thomas and Lily (Hockenberry) Ross: sister, Coletta (Drass) Illig, brother-in-law, Fred Illig, and nephew Fred Illig Jr. Survived by stepdaughter, Lana Ross of Erie, nephews and nieces: Cheryl (Aliquo) Illig of Woodbridge, VA, David and Carol (Penatzer) Illig of Ebensburg, Dawn and Eugene Smith of Little River, SC, and Patricia and Vincent DiRose of Windsor, NY, great nephews and great nieces: Major Todd (Kim) Bender, Jonathan (Gina) Illig, Keith (Jamie) Illig, Kaylee (Luke) Byrne, Tyler (Kristen) Knopsnyder, Gina Smith, Dominick DiRose and Nicholas DiRose. Bettie was a former member of the Coalport United Methodist Church. At Bettie’s request there will be no viewing or services. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. The family would like to take this opportunity to “Thank” everyone at St. Benedict Manor for their excellent care and compassion during Bettie’s stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Benedict Manor, 600 Theatre Road, St. Benedict, PA 15773.
