Barry Krug, 64, of Ebensburg R.D., died October 7, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born December 29, 1958, in Spangler, son of Patrick and Jean Ann (Adams) Krug. Preceded in death by his father on February 3, 2023. Survived by his mother of Loretto, R.D., his loving wife of 42 years, the former Cathy Weiland, whom he married October 3, 1981, in Loretto, children: Chad (Joan Bender) of Loretto R.D., and Kelly (Shawn) Cole of Ebensburg, 4 grandchildren: Logan, Zac, Gavin, and Grant, a brother, Greg (Christine Barry) Krug of Big Timber, MT. Also survived by an aunt, an uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law. Barry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and fishing. He had owned and operated C&K Powder Coating, and had worked for Pennstress for a number of years. Member of Chest Springs Sportsmens Club and the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes and Rev. Justin Treon concelebrants. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St. Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday.
