Barbara Ann (Massicci) Mulhern

Barbara Ann Mulhern, 84, of Cresson, died March 25, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. Born September 17, 1938 in Ashville, daughter of the late Augustine and Ruby (Gibbons) Massicci. Preceded in death by son, William P. Mulhern on July 22, 2016, and step father, Wilmer “Crow” Risbon. Survived by husband of 67 years, Patrick J. Mulhern, whom she married April 7, 1956 in Ashville, children: Karen (Larry) Parks, Diane (James) Zawacki, and Brian Mulhern, grandchildren: Aaron Zawacki and Jenna Mulhern, sister, Emma Jean Zangara, and her children: Ralph Zangara, Deborah Mulhern, Rhonda Barone, and Randy Zangara. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara has arrived at her eternal home. She loved and served everyone, was compassionate and caring and was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed skiing, biking, roller skating, ice skating, bowling, tobogganing, yard games, dancing, tennis, badminton, and swimming with all the children in the neighborhood. She was a loving, dedicated, kind, and compassionate mother who was always there for her children and husband, and will be deeply missed. Barb was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Aloysius Cemetery, Cresson. Friends will be received from 4 until 7 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613.
