Anthony J. “Tony” Machiarola, 88, formerly of Coupon and Ashville, died October 31, 2023, at the Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home. He was born January 29, 1935, in Dysart, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Marra) Machiarola. Preceded in death by son, Shawn, son-in-law, Gary Moschgat, and sisters: Evelyn Nagle and Marie “Tootsie” Lidwell. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Carol Seymore, whom he married April 20, 1963, in Coupon, daughters: Lori Moschgat and Kim (Joe) Mercer, grandsons: Justin Moschgat and Chris Moschgat, brother, Francis “Muzz” Machiarola and sister, Lora (Jerry) Whitney. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed playing guitar and softball, and throwing horseshoes. Former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coupon, and St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, Rev. Albert Ledoux, Celebrant. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery, Coupon. Friends will be received from 5 until 7 PM Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Vigil Service will be held.
