Alice Hale, 93, of Altoona, died January 1, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. She was born November 5, 1931, in R.D. Fallentimber, daughter of the late Gene and Katherine “Katie” (Matish) Ratchford. Preceded in death by husband, William “Tibb” Hale on March 10, 1997, infant son, William J. Hale Jr., Brothers: Eugene Jr. “Bucky”, Fred, Harold, and Pat and sister: Yvonne Cuomo. Survived by sons: Rodney and Randy (Jenn Hunter), grandsons: Alexander and Andrew, sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Crossman and brothers: Gerald “Jake” (Linda Stewart), and Michael. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Alice enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, bowling, traveling and she was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. She had worked for Sylvania, Altoona for many years. Member of the Red Hat Society, Altoona and the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Friends will be received from 3 until 6 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a Vigil Service will be held Sunday.
