Alan “Bear” Lidwell Sr., 73, R.D. Ashville, died January 15, 2022 at home. Born August 29, 1948 in Ashville, son of the late B. John and M. Leona (Marra) Lidwell. Preceded in death by brothers; Rick and Gary. Survived by wife 0f 53 years, the former Patty Stiffler, whom he married December 7, 1968 in Ashville, sons; Alan Jr (Alexa Penn), and Aaron (Christine Pupo), daughter, Tricia (Jason) Davison, grandchildren; Briana, Jaden, Owen and Dominic, sisters in law; Sandy and Holly, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Alan was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and a Bronze Star Medal. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing, and hunting. He had worked as a senior foreman / project engineer for 34 years for Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroads and retired in 2004. At Alan’s request there will be no viewing or services.
