Theodore Galuschik 86, Patton, died December 27, 2018 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born August 27, 1932 in R.D. Patton, son of the late Stephen and Anna (Kupetz) Galuschik. Preceded in death by son, Mark Daniel on January 24, 1993, and brothers, James and Francis. Survived by wife of 63 years, the former Arvilla Jean Berardinelli, whom he married April 30, 1955 in Patton, son, Theodore Joseph (Donna Eck) of Painesville, OH, 4 grandchildren, Joy Marie Galuschik Short (Matt), Noel Elizabeth Galuschik (Jason Maillet), Nicole Ann Langer (Chris) and Rev. Steven Michael Galuschik, great grandson, Grady James Short, daughter in law, Holy Angeloff (Mark) of Saxonburg and brother, John (Janet Baird) of McKees Rocks. Ted was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He worked in the Steel Mills in Johnstown for 31 years and retired in 1983. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Florida and picking seashells. He would help anyone. He volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Boy Scouts of America, at the Florida Horse Farm for mentally disabled and the Patton Food Pantry. Life Member of Patton VFW, Carrolltown American Legion and St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and a member of the choir. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, Pa 16613, where Panachida will be sung Sunday. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Patton, Very Rev. Vaysl Polyak, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery.  Military Rites in charge of Patton VFW and Carrolltown American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer Disease Research Center, 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213 or the Patton Food Pantry in Ted’s memory.
