Scott K. Askey Sr. 78, Coalport, died March 5, 2018 at the emergency room of UPMC Altoona. Born February 13, 1940 in Ambridge, PA, son of the late Kenneth and Cora (McGonigal) Askey. Preceded in death by a brother. Survived by wife, the former Judy (Cossick-Hewitt) whom he married October 14, 1994 in Clearfield. Step sons: John (Theresa Kephart) Hewitt of Coalport, Jeff Hewitt of Coalport and Josh (Keri Stere) Hewitt of Bellwood. 8 step grandchildren. Last member of his immediate family. Scott was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working around his home. He worked for Alltel for 32 years, and also worked for Coalport Boro for a number of years. At Scott’s request, viewing will be private. Member of Coalport Boro Council for 18 years, and former member of the Knights of Columbus. Member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, Rev. Msgr. Robert Mazur, Celebrant. Entombment, Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to the Humane Society in Scott’s memory. Arrangements in charge of Gibbons Funeral Home 1085 Main St., Coalport, PA 16627

So sorry to learn of Butch's passing. He was one of my favorite cousins. My thoughts and prayers are with his family
