Janet L. Gibbons 74, R.D. Ashville, died February 17, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 10, 1941 in Spangler, daughter of the late Francis J. and Kathleen M. (Otto) Garrity.  Survived by husband of 51 years, Harry “Bob” whom she married June 6, 1964 in Patton. Children:

Glenn                                                Ashville

Molly Lawley (Mark)                      Sarasota, FL

6 grandchildren

A 1962 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Alumni Association. Janet enjoyed working at Leiden’s Farm and Volunteer work at St. Lazarus, Martha & Mary Old Roman  Catholic Church, St. Lawrence. She retired in 2006 after 22 years service as the Director of Nursing at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. Member of St. Lazarus, Martha & Mary Old Roman  Catholic Church, St. Lawrence, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, Archbishop Louis Milazzo, Celebrant. Committal, St.Lazarus, Martha & Mary Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Lazarus, Martha & Mary Old Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence, PA in Janet’s memory. www.gibbonsfhashvillecoalport.com

I am very sorry to hear of your loss be rest assured that she is in a better place with Father Ted in heaven. I am Father Teds sister from Mi and I have spent time with your mother when I was home to visit. Very nice lady. God bless your family at this time.
