John H. Vigne 85, Coalport, died February 14, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 20, 1929 in Detroit, MI, son of the late Angelo and Sandrina (Serafini) Vigne. Preceded in death by brother, Angelo. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Germaine “Gerry” Flynn whom he married February 20, 1954 at St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport, and these children:

Sandra Dick (Ron)                                   Hollidaysburg

Bill (Shellie Ziegler)                                 Altoona

5 grandchildren: Brittani Vigne, John Vigne, Andrew Dick, Erin Vigne (Max), and Megan Vigne,

a great grandson, Anthony Glasson, sister in law, Nadine (Nevling) Vigne, Coalport, and several nieces and nephews. He was the last member of his immediate family. John was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren, and was an avid Notre Dame and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He owned and operated Johnny’s Service Center, Coalport for 40 years. He was a member of the Advisory Board at Curwensville State Bank, a Life Member of Coalport VFW and an Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Basil Council. At John’s request there will be no viewing. A member of St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, Rev. Zab Amar, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Basil’s Altar Rosary Society in John’s memory. Our deepest sympathy for the loss of John. Barrie and I have a lot of find memories of John. He made a lot of people laugh and was a very unique and special man.
