Gary C. Apple, 68, Roseland Road, Coalport, died January 4, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. Born December 28, 1952 in Altoona, son of the late Thomas Merle and Joyce C. (Carter) Apple. Survived by wife of 44 years, the former Joyce Grimes, whom he married October 16, 1976 in Coalport. Son Brent (Miranda Veneskey) of Lyleville, grandson, Brayden, sister, Sharolyn (Wayne) Ivory of Chest Springs, brother, Mike (Jerilyn Ponist) of Glasgow. Also survived by an aunt, an uncle, several nieces, and nephews. Gary had worked as a heavy equipment operator at C & K Coal Company, and as a foreman for Cambria Mills Coal Company. He later owned and operated Apple Drilling. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing with Brent, mowing grass, but most of all spending time with his family. Member of Fiske United Methodist Church. Due to the corona virus situation there will be no viewing or service at this time. A memorial service will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Fiske United Methodist Church in Gary’s memory.
