Ralph J. Farabaugh Sr. 89, Loretto, went home with the Lord on August 7, 2017 at home. Born September 30, 1927 in R.D. Loretto, son of the late Rupert and Catherine (Driskel) Farabaugh. Preceded in death by wife of 56 years, the former Mary Cretin on February 27, 2007, 2 infant grandsons, sister, Louise (Chick) Scanlon, brothers: Donald (Grace), Roy (Faye) and Clair (Rita). Survived by children: Theresa (Ed) Storm, Louise (George) Eckenrode, Cindy (Fred) Gailey, Donna (Tom) Berg, Ralph Jr. (Roberta Nagle), Priscilla Perehinec (fiancé, Doug Madden), Jerry (Joan Shaffer), and Justina Bohn. 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Last member of his immediate family. After 40 plus years, Ralph retired from being a school bus owner/operator for Cambria Heights School District, the USDA Farm Service Agency, Ebensburg, and farming. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his dog Abby, riding his bike on the Rails to Trails, weekly card games with his dear friends, and square dancing. A life member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, Celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Vigil Service will be held Wednesday evening. Family suggests contributions be made to the Basilica of St. Michael Memorial Fund, Home Nursing Agency, Hospice of Cambria County or County Home Makers Inc. in Ralph’s memory. A special “Thank you” is given to Agnes, Dot, Shasta, Tiffany, Amy, Diana and Wendy for their many years of loving care. The family also would like to thank their neighbors and friends for their prayers, acts of kindness and generosity given to our loving father.
